Ed Gornik – Trumpeter

Ed Gornik_Lyceum Music Festival Coach Utah Symphony

Ed Gornik holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Northwestern University. Upon graduation he joined the San Antonio Symphony and performed with them from 1971-1975. In 1975 he became the co-principal trumpet of the Utah Symphony where he continued until 2010. Ed has served as a professor of trumpet on the faculties of the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and Weber College.

Ed continues to be in-demand as a studio player and can be heard as a soloist and orchestral performer on hundreds of commercial recordings for television, movies, and album releases. He and his wife Holly (woodwinds) not only coach orchestral sectionals but also work with students daily in chamber groups and sit in on rehearsals.

This is Ed's 4th season coaching trumpets at Lyceum Music Festival.
