David Cho

David Cho, Associate Conductor of the Utah Symphony has directed some of the world's finest orchestras including the Vienna Philharmonic and the National Symphony Orchestra.

David is one of the West's leading figures in music education. As a young rising star in the classical conducting world, he is especially gifted working with young musicians directing classical concerts to young audiences across the state of Utah .

David has won numerous awards and accolades for his skill on the podium including First Prize at the Eduardo Mata International Conducting Competition, Tanglewood Conducting Fellow, Salzburg Festival Karajan Fellow, and American Symphony Orchestra League's National Conducting Institute Fellow where he debuted with the National Symphony Orchestra.

David recently directed orchestras across Europe and South America; most notably with the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfonica Sao Paulo, and Orquesta y Coro Madrid . David has previously served as the Resident Conductor of the San Antonio Symphony where he held the Bruno Walter Conductor Chair.

David earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in piano performance at the Oberlin Conservatory and the Peabody Institute, respectively. He received his second Master of Music Degree in conducting at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University .
