ORCHESTRA EXPERIENCE
Students are required to learn their parts prior to attending the festival. The orchestra rehearses 3 hours per day with Guest Artists and Directors. Students are led in regular sectional rehearsals by Utah Symphony section players. Seating auditions are held the first day. See Schedule for details. Preparations culminate in a performance at the Grand Finale Concert.

CHAMBER MUSIC EXPERIENCE
Each participant will be placed in a chamber ensemble with students of like ability. Complete chamber groups are invited to attend. Students not in a pre-formed group may request to perform with other known musicians at the time of registration. LMF may or may not be able to accommodate all requests.

Ensemble Coaches are assigned from LMF staff and musicians from the Deer Valley Music Festival's Emerging String Quartet Program overseen by The Muir String Quartet. This allows participants to be mentored by emerging professional string quartets from across the United States. These emerging quartets are in a unique position not only to provide meaningful musical feedback but also to help aspiring musicians learn more about the ins and outs of forming a successful chamber group of their own.

Preparations culminate in a Chamber Music Concert on the final day of the festival presented for parents and fellow participants to enjoy.

"The music was a wonderful and fun experience. Kayson Brown works so well with youth and helps us strive to be our best as people and musicians."

"I especially loved having time for chamber music along with orchestra. I will definitely come again next year."
